Ready to Sell?

With the onset of Spring, real estate listings typically increase.  If you are planning on listing your house, here are some things you can do to make your transaction smoother once you have a contract:

  • Obtain the instrument survey map from when you purchased the house (a copy is sufficient).

  • Determine if you have the original abstract of title (not always retained by homeowner).

  • Copy of HUD-1 settlement statement from when you purchased the home.

Having these items in advance will allow your lawyer to better prepare and meet critical deadlines (and it will probably save you some money, too).
