Estate Planning in a Digital World

When you consider your estate plan you often think about your home, bank accounts, family heirlooms, etc.  Many do not consider their digital "footprint".  Included in your digital footprint are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, iTunes and Pandora accounts.  Also, you may have bills scheduled to auto-pay from a credit card or a bank account.

When planning your estate it is important to consider your online accounts and make sure that usernames and passwords are stored in a secure, yet accessible, location so that upon your death the items of value, whether sentimental or financial, can be protected; or, so that unnecessary auto-payments and auto-renew subscriptions are stopped.
